About the costume: I've never worked as hard on any costume as I have on Rapunzel. The skirt is lined with embroidery I did by hand, the front panel of the skirt as well as the pattern on all of my corset is hand painted with dark and light purple, pink and white fabric paint mixed out with glitter media. The skirt is two layers of different fabrics to get out the share I wanted, the puff part of the sleeves are as well, and the pink stripes are ribbon I sewed on stripe by stripe. I have dyed the bottom trim lace for the corset and tight part of the sleeves pink to get juuust the shade I wanted and done purple embroidery at the top of the tight fitted sleeves. The flowers for my braid I picked out with the help of a gazzillion of screenshots aaaaand I also painted some of them to make them a little more accurate. (I think the flowers are a very underestimated and important part of any Rapunzel costume, so I wanted to do it right.) The wig is two separate pieces where I put the braid on first with a wide elastic hoop over my head, then my Flynn braids my base wig over it! All in all I have 8 whole wigs in my braid and on my head, it's so heavy that it WILL give me a headache but I bear with it because TANGLED.
And that should about cover it? (apart from sewing, drafting patterns, mixing paint, trying new tecniques like boning my corset/top, all the hand stitching, glueing, crying, laughing, sleepless hours, backbreaking days and hysterical runs for supplies. ) All in all I love my costume, even though I already know a couple of things I want to redo/change/fix for next time~

Costume is made and worn by me with a LOT of help from my Flynn ~Plindisen (she actually helps with the wearing part too, like carrying my braid and getting me in and out of my corset because on my own I am STUCK I kid you not.)


Fun fact: I went barefoot the whole day because you know, why not, and I stepped in SO WEIRD STUFF, among others a slimy mushroom, a snail, rainbow colored wig hair, gooey wet leaves and yeah... BLEHRG.
